Tour Operators

Whether you’ve got an hour or a month, seniors or small children, you can have a good time starting at the End of the Oregon Trail!

Tour group reservations are customized to meet visitor’s expectations. Tours can be self-guided with interpreters available to answer questions or customized with many options:

  • Presentation:  In 30 minutes, a historically clothed interpreter can orient your group with an interactive presentation that includes volunteers and props. Content may be customized as well.
  • Bound for Oregon: This 30-minute film traces the true stories of four pioneers making their way to Oregon. Hear their experiences in their own words – taken from their journals and letters.
  • Heritage Gardens: Master Gardener volunteers meet with groups to talk about gardening in pioneer times and the sustainable gardening practices still used today.
  • Hands-On Activities: Take part in history through activities such as candle dipping, butter making, packing the wagon, or surveying the land.

We are conveniently located off of I-205 just a short distance from downtown Portland, Mt. Hood, the Columbia River Gorge, and other must-see Oregon attractions. Our location features snacks and food available for purchase or group catering, historic Abernethy Green with the official end of the Oregon Trail marker, and ample parking, including bus and handicap spaces. Also on site, the state and county welcome center with free travel itineraries to continue your journey. Examples include:

  • Historic Oregon City: Arch Bridge, municipal elevator, historic sites, riverfront parks, kayaking, and river cruises
  • Willamette Valley: Outdoor art, wineries, antique shopping, historic buildings, horseback riding, and farm tours
  • Clackamas County: Oregon Trail sites, museums, waterfalls, and Mt. Hood’s fishing, skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing, and hiking
